"Lunch Break" is the twenty-seventh episode of Regular Show's sixth season (and one-hundred and eightieth episode overall). It first aired on June 24, 2015.
Synopsis
Mordecai and Rigby have to finish the "Super Sub" that is a ten-foot sub by the end of the day, or they are fired.
Plot
Everyone is paving a basketball court when Benson shows up with a broken right foot. Benson declares that because everyone is working so hard, he wants to treat them to sandwiches from a place called "Sandweechies". Everyone agrees and states their orders. Muscle Man says he'll get the number 12, to which High Five Ghost agrees. Skips chooses get the 33. Mordecai and Rigby out of free choice choose the 46 to share.
Benson then returns with the sandwiches and everyone gets theirs but Mordecai and Rigby. M&R ask where theirs is, and Benson skips to his car where he pulls out a ten-foot sub, which makes Mordecai, Rigby, and Benson laugh, until Benson's laughter turns angry and angrily objects that it cost him 85 dollars as of how expensive the sandwich is — if they don't finish it before the end of the day, they will be fired.
Later Mordecai and Rigby are shown eating on the benches and thinking that it will be easy, remembering a time when they were twelve, where they were caught digging for prizes in RGB2's cereal by Rigby's dad and were forced to eat four boxes before being sent to he hospital and signing a contract for the managers of the cereal to not get in trouble. They also remember a time with a huge Ice Cream Sundae, a bathtub full of mayonnaise, and a mega burrito with a full buffet.
Then as Benson yells for less giggling and more gobbling, they remember a time when they failed at a pizza challenge and the delivery guy took their TV as payment. Then they realize how stupid it was to do those eating challenges. Benson then shows up and mocks them, saying that they have five minutes to finish ten minutes of sandwich to eat, and that he will have their personal items shipped back to their parents since they will probably be living with them.
They are about to give up from being so full and eating too much, but then make up a story about them in space after the earth blew up.
In the story, they are disgusted from eating nutrition cubes that are the only thing that they can find since the earth blew up. Then a collision occurs and Rigby is sent to investigate after inevitably losing in punchies, where he finds truck of sandwiches to eat. They microwave what they find and try to eat it. But when Mordecai tries to cut it, the sandwich reveals itself to be alive and they chase after it, through the Park and house, a mountain, a stage, until they reach a rooftop. But then the sandwich is catapulted to another rooftop by a spatula from the sky, and then the spatula swats Mordecai and Rigby into the ocean. through space, and into a building where they meet RGB2. He tells them that they have to defeat the sandwich. Then the sandwich fights them until they jump out the window, split it and eat it as a normal sandwich before it changes to something else.
Then Mordecai and Rigby are shown to have finished it, and they give a victory OOOOHHH. Then Benson shows up and makes things worse by telling them to run 50 laps around the newly finished basketball court or get fired, which causes them to regurgitate.

- The console featured in a flashback where Mordecai and Rigby order a pizza is a mix of Playstation 1, Nintendo 64 (due to it's design and game being powered by cartridge) and possibly Sega Genesis/Mega Drive (due to controller's shape and appearance). The game that is seen while Pizza Guy was playing was an allusion to FPS titles like Quake (1996) or Wolfenstein games.
- The red curtain room is a reference to a similar room in the 1990 mystery TV series Twin Peaks.
- Rigby says "This is how Kobayashi does it" when attempting to eat the pizza. This is a reference to the real-life competitive eater Takeru Kobayashi.
