"Don" is the tenth episode of Regular Show's first season. It first aired on November 8, 2010 and was written and storyboarded by Benton Connor, Kat Morris and JG Quintel.

Official Synopsis

Rigby's estranged accountant brother comes back to help save the park from an audit. While everyone loves Don, Rigby wants nothing to do with him.

Plot

Mordecai and Rigby are pretending they are playing football in the house, when Benson yells at them to go outside for an emergency meeting. Benson says that the park is being audited because Pops tried to pay the park's taxes with lollipops instead of paying with actual money. He also reveals that if they don't take care of this, the government will audit them and take their stuff away, and asks if anyone knows someone who can help them. After supposedly firing Muscle Man, having gotten sick of his "My Mom" jokes, Mordecai offers a suggestion; Rigby's accountant brother, Don. Rigby does not like this idea because he's hated Don ever since his sixth birthday party, when Don stole the attention of Rigby's friends. Despite Rigby's objections, Mordecai brings Don to the park, where he immediately takes the attention from everybody because he is cool, nice, funny, and the total opposite of Rigby, including being much taller, and also because he gives a hug/hand-shake, which he calls "sugar." Rigby's hatred for Don however grows, and it goes far enough that he mocks Don and throws a football in Mordecai's stomach when he was shown hanging out with Don.

Eventually, when Don is almost finished with the taxes, Rigby then drives Don away by saying that Don should never have been born. Mordecai finds out and tells Rigby to bring Don back, but Rigby refuses to and says he can finish the audit by himself; however, he does it wrong and the park begins to magically disappear by the audit. Benson angrily orders Rigby to bring Don back, but Rigby is too stubborn to listen and he runs away in frustration. Mordecai finds Rigby in their bedroom, he calls him out for his selfishness and wants him to end this. Rigby denies and blames him for not knowing what it's like to have a brother. Mordecai knows it's true, he doesn't have a brother, but he knows what it's like because he has Rigby like a brother; that despite how awkward and embarrassing he can be, he can at least make due with him. Rigby realizes his friend is right and goes with Mordecai to Don's house, but Don is too sad to go back and questions why Rigby hates him. Mordecai tells him it's because he ruined Rigby's sixth birthday, but Rigby explains that it's not just that, it's everything; he's felt overshadowed by his brother; that whenever Don was around Rigby was left out; that everything Don does is better; and that everyone believes Don is the older brother when in reality, Rigby is the older brother. After looking back and recognizing this, Don apologizes and explains he was never trying to steal his brother's thunder, he was just trying to be like Rigby, because he believed everything Rigby did was so cool.

Following this reconciliation, they go back to the park in order to stop the audit. Don is almost finished with the audit, but says that he actually can't finish the audit on the computer so he still needs Rigby to give him some sugar (which is an easy way to destroy the audit), so Rigby reluctantly does so under pressure. The park is restored to normal, and Don says good-bye, saying "an accountant's work is never done." Rigby and Don are now on better terms with each other.
